Description

These data consist of three files (one for each year) containing all observations of birds from a set of surveys on private ranches during the breeding season in the Nebraska Sandhills region, 2002-2004. The surveyors walked 3000 meters of line transects on each ranch, and the ranches were selected to be in the study because their grazing systems belonged to one of three types of grazing systems: short duration (management-intensive grazing), medium duration (often 4-pasture deferred), or long duration (continuous grazing). The data include both observations by sight and/or sound. See Kempema (2007) for detailed data collection methods
