Other: The paper reports an experimental study of sessile droplet evaporation process containing motile bacteria. It shows that pure salt solute droplets tend to crystalize near the pinned contact edge due to the evaporation flux. However, when the bacteria co-exist with salt solutes, due to their motility, they can reverse the salt crystallization pattern. Numerical simulation confirms what was observed in the experiment and supports the argument that 1) bacterial motility enables them to swim against background fluid flux to deposit in the center, and 2) the bacteria can provide salt nucleation sites that change crystallization morphology. This data deposit contains the supplementary information for the paper, including additional experimental images and videos (S2, S3, S4, S9), numerical code to replicate the computation (S5, S6, S7, S8) and a summary document S1.
